What if my car is stolen?

If you suspect that your car has been stolen, please don't go looking for it. You could put yourself in danger. 

Instead, stay calm and follow these steps:

1. Check that it's actually been stolen. If you were parked illegally, it might have been towed away.

2. Call 101 to inform the police. Ask them for a crime reference number. You won't be able to make a theft claim without one.

3. Check any security footage. You or a neighbour might have caught the theft on camera.

4. Contact us as soon as possible. You can either call 020 3318 9745 or make a claim online. So we can help you quickly, please make sure you have your crime reference number ready. 

What happens next will mostly depend on whether or not your car is recovered. But rest assured that your claim handler will discuss all your options with you.
