What cover plan do I have and can I change it?

Here at Prima, we offer different comprehensive car insurance plans to suit different needs and budgets. 

We now offer:

• Prima Essentials: Our lightest plan. 
• Prima: Our standard plan. 
• Prima Plus: Our enhanced cover plan. 
• Prima Premier: Our highest level of cover. 

You can check what plan you have in Your Information & Policy Schedule. We should have emailed you this document when you first bought cover from us. 

(If you bought your policy before February 9th 2026, you’ll have our standard Prima plan. This is because we only introduced our other cover plans after this date.) 

You can’t switch plans mid-policy

For now, it’s not possible to switch the plan that you’re on mid-way through your policy. 

But if you feel that your current plan doesn’t suit your needs, you can cancel it and take out one of our alternative cover plans. Just so you know though, you will need to pay a cancellation fee. Our cancellation fee is £30 if you cancel within 14 days of buying your policy. Otherwise, it’s £50.
