Will I get a courtesy car?

We know how important it is to keep you on the road.

So if your car is damaged in an accident, we’ll provide you with a courtesy car while it’s with a Prima-approved repairer.

How long you’ll get a courtesy car

We’ll aim to provide you with a courtesy car from the time repair work starts on your own car until the time it’s done.

But there’s a nationwide shortage of courtesy cars right now. So it’s possible there might be a slight delay in getting your courtesy car to you. If this is the case though, we’ll let you know right away.

What type of courtesy car you’ll get

Your courtesy car will be a small hatchback.

When you won’t get a courtesy car

With our comprehensive car insurance, we can only provide a courtesy car while yours is getting fixed by a Prima-approved repairer.

Unfortunately, we can’t provide a courtesy car if:

  • You use a repairer that’s not approved by us
  • Your car is deemed beyond economic repair (or written off)
  • Your car is stolen
  • Your car is only in for a windscreen or glass repair

If you choose our upgraded courtesy car cover

Like we said, we include a courtesy car with our comprehensive car insurance as standard. But when you take out your policy, you can pay extra for our upgraded courtesy car cover.

If you upgrade, you’ll get a courtesy car that’s more like what you usually drive, rather than a small hatchback.

Plus, you’ll also be guaranteed a courtesy car for up to 14 days if your car is damaged, stolen or written off.
