What happens if I miss a monthly payment?

We understand that missed payments can happen. But to stay insured, it’s important that we get you back on track quickly. 

 

We’ll try again to take the payment

 

Your premium finance provider will try again to take the missed payment. 

 

Your premium finance provider is the company that usually collects your monthly payments. Depending on when you took out your Prima policy, this is either Close Brothers or Abound.
 

This second payment attempt will happen:

 

  • One day later if you’re with Abound
  • 10 days later if you’re with Close Brothers

 

At the same time that they collect the missed payment, they’ll also take a late payment fee. You can check how much this fee is in your credit agreement, which Close Brothers or Abound should have emailed to you when you took out your policy. 
 

What to do if you the second payment attempt fails
 

If you don’t get your payments up to date, we may have no choice but to cancel your Prima insurance.

So if you know that this second payment attempt has failed or that it will fail, please contact your premium finance provider as soon as possible. They can support you and discuss your next steps.
